Most pallet dimensioners only measure the maximum dimensions of each axis of the pallet–length, width, and height. The Contour Pro measures real volume and provides payload overhang, payload center, and payload position relative to the pallet it sits on. That data is essential to automate the handling of your pallets.
Perform a Top Layer Inspection
The Cubiscan Contour Pro can detect missing cases in the top layer of a payload. Based on preset criteria, the system determines if a gap exists that is equal to or exceeding the preset case size, and will fail the load if it detects one. The top layer inspection is extra verification to help avoid product shortages in shipping.

Smallest Bounding Box
The maximum length, width, and height dimension of the payload and pallet. These dimensions describe the minimum size box within which the load will fit.
Payload Overhang
The payload rests on the pallet and may extend horizontally beyond the pallet in any direction. This extension of the payload beyond the pallet is called payload overhang. The Cubiscan Contour Pro will calculate the maximum payload overhang on all four sides of the pallet. The measurement is for overhang only. If the payload is inset from the pallet edge it will be considered an overhang of 0mm.
Top of Payload
The dimensions of the top of the payload will be provided along with the offset of the geometric center of the top of the payload relative to the geometric horizontal center of the pallet. In addition, the offset of the top of the payload relative to the payload center will be provided. These measurements give an indication of the lean of the payload.
Payload Center
The offset of the center of the payload relative to the center of the pallet. These dimensions will describe the horizontal offset of the center of the bounding box relative to the horizontal center of the pallet.

Typical Quality Control Workflow
The Cubiscan Contour Pro is used to inspect the integrity of palletized freight before it’s handled by an AGV or put away in the warehouse. Typical use goes as follows…
Step 1
Identify the Order/Pallet
Fixed scanners read the barcode or item ID as the pallet moves down conveyor towards the Cubiscan Contour Pro.
Step 2
Contouring the Freight
The pallet pauses briefly under the Cubiscan Contour Pro as the system measures the freight. A third sensor mounted at conveyor height inspects the load in relation to the pallet it sits on.
Step 3
Data Collected & Transferred
Dimensions and contour data (overhang, lean, top layer inspection, etc.) are pushed to the customer’s endpoint of choice. This is typically the software controlling the AGV fleet.
Step 4
Go/No-go Logic
If the contour data falls within your preset tolerance, the palletized load can be safely transported and stored. If the data is outside tolerance, the pallet is routed to a rework station to ensure safe handling.

On-Site Installation
We will install and commission your Cubiscan dimensioner. If integrated with other equipment (i.e. barcode scanner, fixed scanning, print & apply, sortation, etc.) we will also install and configure those components.
One Year Factory Warranty
This is included with every Cubiscan dimensioner. It covers part defects and part replacement. Remote phone support is also provided as part of the one year factory warranty.
Extended Factory Warranty
The extended FW is an add on to the original factory warranty. Coverage includes part repair or replacement and labor.
