INTEGRATED END-OF-LINE SHIPPING SYSTEMS
Automate your shipping lines and eliminate chargebacks with integrated DWS, print and apply, and sortation capabilities.
Warehouse Automation Solutions
Cubiscan offers integrated warehouse and fufillment automation solutions. These solutions are often referred to as SLAM lines. SLAM stands for scan, label, apply, manifest and typically refers to the last 100 feet of a warehouse. Automating these SLAM lines can generate labor efficiencies, improve order accuracy, and increase velocity in your order-fulfillment process.
Helping You Succeed
We specialize in helping small-to-medium size businesses introduce automation into their shipping and receiving lines. This is typically done in SLAM applications, where the customer needs some combination of scanning, dimensioning, weighing, labeling, and sorting done.
Where to Start
It’s important to remember that automation doesn’t have to be all or nothing. It often comes one step or piece of equipment at a time. We recommend working from the dock door backwards. With your end-of-line process fully automated, you can reallocate manpower to problem areas in receiving and pick ‘n pack. If you automate upstream first, you may be frustrated as you still deal with manual bottlenecks downstream.
How Cubiscan is Different
Most integrated SLAM solutions are a combination of products from different suppliers brought under one umbrella. However, just because you purchase your equipment through a single integrator, doesn’t mean they’ll service all of it, if and when it goes down. When you invest in a SLAM line with Cubiscan, we install and service all components on the line.
Centralized service means fast response times and less down time when you need support.
Unlike most integrators, we manufacture portions of the SLAM line we install–the dimensioner and in-line scale.
Our experience building and integrating dimensioning systems with software, hardware, and controls automation helps keep your warehouse running at peak efficiency so you can quickly fulfill orders and meet customer expectations.
Automating Your End-of-Line
Scanning Systems
Capture barcode data on high-speed conveyors in receiving and End-of-line (EOL) shipping applications. Inspect carton labels for print quality and accuracy. This includes label verification to ensure a package and its contents are going to the correct recipient. Helps with QA/QC process to reject and divert parcels that have been mislabeled or incorrectly packaged.
Dimensioning & Weighing
Capture dimensions and weight for parcel shipping, checkweigh, and order verification. Dimensional weight data can be used to rate shop to guarantee the best shipping rates. Shippers also use checkweighers (in-motion scale) for QA/QC processes. If a packaged order falls outside a weight tolerance, the package can be flagged and diverted to a rework area.
Print & Apply Labeling
Automatically populate and print labels on the correct parcels. Print and apply labelers help reduce expenses, eliminate human error, increase throughput, and improve inventory tracking. We can print all different types of labels: shipping, compliance, dangerous goods, date and time stamp, etc.
Manifesting & Sorting
Cubiscan provides the software and controls to interface with your host and shipping software, allowing the manifesting process to run smoothly. We also provide sortation and conveyance so you can sort packages by carrier, destination, or mode of transportation.

Typical End-of-line Manifesting Process Flow
Identification Scan
LPN (license plate number) is scanned to identify the order.
Dimensioned & Weighed
The package is then dimensioned and weighed, and the dims and weight are associated to the LPN.
Shipment Data Collected
That data is pushed to a shipping execution software, where it is married with customer and ship-to information, as well as carrier rate shopped. This is also where tracking information is assigned.
Data Stored & Sent to Print
The shipping information is sent back to Cubiscan’s Qbit software, where it is stored and a request for shipping label is sent to the printer.
Label Printed and Applied
The shipping label is printed and applied to the parcel.
Shipping Label Verified
The parcel enters a verification scan to make sure the LPN, tracking number, and label information are all correct.
Parcel Sorted
The package is then sorted by carrier, destination, or mode of transportation for downstream handling.
